Some of the frequently asked questions.
Why did you start your business? We started fixing cars about 20 years ago. Buying salvage cars at the auction we needed a place to
fix them. We opened a body shop and our auto repair services at the time were available only to a small circle of friends,
that we were in business with of buying cars, restoring them and selling after a complete restoration. We were getting a lot
of compliments on the quality of our work, and little by little our body shop has grown into full service auto repair facility.
Now our doors are open to the public.
What makes you different than other similar businesses in
your community? We work hard on eliminating
common mistakes other auto body shops make such as miscommunication between mechanic and sales person, not being up front
with a customer, not finishing repair at a promised time frame. And our efforts result in a steady flow of repeat customers. What kind of work do you do? We do all
work related to mechanical auto repairs and body work. We have all the equipment necessary for just about any job imaginable.
Paint booth, frame machines and thousands of pieces of small equipment.
For all your auto body work do you get your parts at the dealership, buy after market parts
or pull them out of the junk yard? That depends on the customer's budget and agreement we have with a customer.
If a customer wants to use 100% dealer parts we will be happy to do so. We try to find out in advance if parts that
are needed for the job, are available at the after market retailers first. If not, our second choice is usually a dealership.
If one is unhappy with a dealer's price we can look for the needed part at the junk yard. The process of finding
the parts for one's vehicle is discussed before we give an estimate and if any changes to be made during the
process(we can't find the part we need, at the price we agreed on, for example) we call the customer right away.
How competitive are your rates? Our prices are very competitive
when it comes to moderate to large auto repair or body work. When it comes to very small jobs our price would not be much
different then of the guy's next door. Although you won't get any deep discounts on minor auto repair or maintenance
we still would be happy to do it for you. We welcome any new business.
Do you offer
same day service? If you need to get an estimate on repairing your vehicle we can look at it and write you up
an estimate the same day, but if you want an actual repair started and finished the same day you would need to give us a call
to find out our availability. Most of the days we are very busy and same day service is not available.
I
would like to repair my vehicle after it has been in a major car accident. My insurance doesn't want to pay the cost of
repair. They want to make it a total loss. What are my options? Sometimes after a car accident a vehicle is
written of as a total loss and insurance is not willing to pay to fix the car. It happens usually when the actual cash value
is less than the market value of the vehicle. One can take the money from the insurance company and buy a new vehicle, or
buy back his vehicle from insurance company and accept the portion of the money(minus the amount paid to buy the car back)
and fix it on his own. A lot of times a vehicle is written off as a total loss for a good reason. It is in such a bad shape
after an accident that it is not cost effective to fix it. But it is not always the case. An insurance representative who
estimates the cost of the repairs and decides whether or not to pay to fix the vehicle, makes an estimate based on dealership
priced parts and $80 dollar an hour dealership cost of labor. A lot of times you can buy after market parts, or even find
some of the parts at the salvage auto parts yard. And small body shops don't charge nearly as much as local dealership
service department. The choice would depend on how bad do you want to keep your vehicle, and how much damage does the vehicle
have. If you decide to keep the vehicle and restore it, the vehicle would need to pass level III inspection at the DMV in
order to put this vehicle back on the road. It is not very difficult to pass this inspection, but the vehicle must be completely
restored fist. How much do you charge
for an inspection of the vehicle? It all depends of what kind of inspection is needed. If the vehicle has a
problem that can be easily identified, there is no charge. If finding the problem requires time, the cost will vary.
